Salah denied clear penalty without VAR check – his reaction says it all

Written by David

Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United got off to a contentious start as Mo Salah was denied a clear penalty just three minutes into the game.
Salah went down in the box after a challenge from Lewis Hall, who slipped over and brought the Egyptian winger down with him.

However, referee Stuart Attwell surprisingly gave a free-kick the other way, leaving Salah and his teammates stunned.

What was even more astonishing was that Attwell didn’t even take a second look at the incident or bother to check with VAR, which has been a crucial tool in helping referees make accurate decisions.
Despite being denied a clear penalty, Salah’s reaction was unexpected.
Instead of protesting or getting agitated, the Liverpool star was seen sporting a big smile on his face, seemingly taking the decision in his stride.
