What Tarkowski did at full-time after lucky escape for horror tackle on Mac Allister

Written by David

James Tarkowski breathed a sigh of relief after escaping a red card for a reckless tackle on Alexis Mac Allister during Everton’s 1-0 loss to Liverpool.

The defender’s challenge was deemed worthy of only a yellow card by referee Sam Barrott, with VAR Paul Tierney also failing to recommend an on-field review.

Despite his lucky escape, Tarkowski took the opportunity to apologise to Mac Allister after the final whistle

The Everton defender approached the Argentine midfielder and initiated a handshake, before pulling him closer for a word.

Mac Allister, who was fortunate to have escaped serious injury from the tackle, seemed to accept Tarkowski’s apology and the two parted ways on good terms.

However, the incident has sparked debate about the consistency of refereeing decisions, with many believing that Tarkowski’s tackle warranted a more severe punishment
