Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has suffered an injury while playing for France in their Nations League quarter-final first leg against Croatia.
Konate was substituted at half-time, replaced by Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano, according to the French national team’s official Twitter account.
This is the second injury concern for Konate in a week, after he was substituted during Liverpool’s Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain and was initially a doubt for the League Cup final against Newcastle United on Sunday.
He played 57 minutes before being replaced by Curtis Jones.
The injury adds to Liverpool’s growing list of absentees, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley, and Tyler Morton already sidelined.
Ryan Gravenberch also withdrew from the Netherlands squad on Wednesday night due to fitness concerns.
Liverpool’s next match is against Everton in the Premier League on April 2, and Arne Slot will be hoping that Konate’s injury is not too severe.
