“Didi Hamann: ‘Darwin Núñez Would Be a Game-Changer for Arsenal’”

Written by David

Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann believes Darwin Núñez would have been an ideal signing for Arsenal, especially given their current injury crisis and shortage of strikers.

Hamann pointed out that while Arsenal is a strong team, their lack of a true center-forward weakens their title chances.

“I think the team is well-equipped, but the absence of a center-forward is what really hurts them,” he said.

He emphasized that Núñez’s physicality, speed, and ability to draw multiple defenders would have significantly changed Arsenal’s attacking dynamics.

“If you have someone up top who bullies defenders and attracts attention, it opens up space for players like Saka, Martinelli, and Ødegaard. Quick players stretch defenses, and Arsenal simply don’t have that right now.”

While Hamann believes Núñez would have been a brilliant addition, he acknowledged that it’s too late for Arsenal to make that move and that they must now work with their current squad.
