As highlighted by Squawka, the previous record was held by legendary striker Andy Cole, who contributed to 21 goals for Newcastle in the 1993/94 season.
There are still a further 14 games left for Salah to add to his tally in what may well turn out to be his best individual season in a Liverpool shirt since signing from Roma in 2017.
